Courtney Humiston, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a Certified Sommelier, is both a journalist and sommelier. Her interest in wine began as a beat reporter for NBC in New York City; she moved to California in 2010 to study wine and discovered that it is, indeed, a lifelong pursuit. She has worked two harvests in vini- and viticulture and has written for The San Francisco Chronicle, The World of Fine Wine, Decanter.com, 7×7 magazine and Somm Journal, among many other publications. Courtney now serves as the Wine Director for Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg, California, and as a wine list consultant and wine judge.
