Anna Lee C. Iijima is a Japanese and American journalist and wine critic based in New York City. In addition to a monthly column for The Chicago Tribune, she frequently about wine, sake, food and culture for Decanter, Bon Appétit, RESY and other publications. For over a decade she was the contributing editor covering Germany, the Rhône Valley, Burgundy and New York for Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Anna Lee holds a WSET Diploma as well as a certification in Viticulture and Vinification from the American Sommelier Association. She is a certified sake professional of the Sake Education Council and a panel chair for the International Wine Challenge Sake Competition. A recovering corporate lawyer, she’s happiest perched in a bar (any bar, really) eavesdropping on other people’s food and beverage choices.
