The in-person Wine Writers’ Symposium returns March 5-8, 2023
We are delighted to announce that the Wine Writers’ Symposium will return to its intimate, in-person incarnation this March and that the application period launches today!
The Wine Writers’ Symposium is a professional conference that focuses on writers who explore topics within wine and wine-adjacent fields. The purpose is to enhance craft of the written word, and the 2023 in-person format is developed to enhance face-to-face interaction and mentorship opportunities.
Writers will be able to apply between October 15 and November 16, 2022 for up to 24 positions as Fellows at the Symposium via the link below. The application form includes an original essay and a personal statement. Applications will be reviewed according to the following criteria between December 2, 2022 and January 6, 2023. Fellows will be contacted in January, with final announcements posted by January 31, 2023.
The application, which includes requests for original pieces, is for a Fellowship position and stay at Meadowood Napa Valley to attend all programming during these dates. For details on what that includes, please click here.
As partners in sponsoring the event, Meadowood Napa Valley and the Napa Valley Vintners are delighted to welcome writers back to the valley for the first time since 2019. However, while the in-person event will be limited in scope, we will be holding a series of virtual roundtables throughout 2023 to continue to foster this rich, international community; no application will be required to attend these events. Please stay tuned for more information on those events next year.
